I get a version of this email at least once a month: "We want seamless period underwear, like the kind that doesn't show under leggings." Then I ask a follow-up question — do they want true circular-knit construction, or just something that won't leave a panty-line ridge under fitted pants — and half the time the buyer isn't sure there's a difference. Some mean "seamless" as in no visible lines. Some actually mean "tagless." A few have told me they want "seamless" and then, three messages later, mention they're fine with side seams as long as there's no waistband elastic showing through white leggings. I don't blame anyone for this — "seamless" gets used loosely across the whole apparel industry, not just in period underwear. But if you're going to market a product as seamless to your own customers, you need to know which kind of seamless you're actually buying, because it's not one technique. It's a spectrum, and I want to walk through it plainly before you spend money on the wrong SKU.

What "seamless" actually means, in one sentence

Here's the declarative version, so you can quote it back to your own team: seamless period underwear ranges from true circular-knit construction — fabric knitted as a single continuous tube with no cut-and-sew edges — to "seamless construction" as a marketing shorthand for a smooth silhouette achieved through flatlock or bonded seaming rather than visible top-stitching. Both get called "seamless." Only one of them is seamless in the literal, technical sense.

True circular-knit seamless vs. "seamless-look" construction

This is the part most buyers skip past, and it's the part that actually matters once your product is live on a retail shelf or a product page with the word "seamless" printed on it.

True circular-knit seamless means the garment body is produced on a specialized circular knitting machine that builds the fabric as one continuous tube — no fabric panels are cut and joined together at all. There's no side seam to bond, flatlock, or stitch because there was never a separate piece of fabric to begin with. The only construction step after knitting is trimming the leg and waist openings, which is done with heat or laser cutting rather than a sewn hem. This is the genuine article — zero seams, not "fewer seams" or "flatter seams."

"Seamless construction" as a marketing term, which is how the phrase gets used on most of the rest of the market (including three of the four styles I'm covering below), means something different: the garment is still cut-and-sew, built from separate fabric panels, but the side seams are either flatlocked flat against the body or bonded rather than stitched with a raised, top-stitched seam. The visual result — no ridge under a t-shirt, no line showing through thin fabric — can look very close to true seamless from the outside. But the construction method is not circular knitting, and if a buyer tells their own customers "100% seamless" when the product is actually flatlock-seamed panels, that's a claim they can't fully back up if anyone looks closely.

I want to be direct about this because it's an easy thing to overstate by accident. Of the four styles below, only the yoga style is genuinely circular-knit. The other three achieve a seamless look — no visible panty line, smooth under clothing — through different construction. That distinction is the whole point of this article, and it's the first thing I'd want a buyer to understand before choosing a style or writing their own product copy.

How this compares to our standard flatlock-seam line

Ljvogues' core period underwear line uses 4-needle 6-thread flatlock seams at the crotch and leg openings — sewn construction, built for strength at stress points, but with a seam that sits flatter than basic overlock stitching, not one that disappears entirely. covers that construction layer by layer if you want the full breakdown. The short version for this article: standard flatlock seams can still show a faint ridge under very fitted or light-colored bottoms, and a small percentage of wearers report seam-rub irritation over long wear. Seamless and seamless-look styles exist specifically to solve that visibility and friction issue — that's the actual selling point, not just a buzzword.

The four styles, one at a time

High-Rise Seamless Period Panties (Model p0001)

This is our foundational seamless-construction brief — "seamless, plain-dyed knitted construction," high-rise, no visible panty lines. To be precise about it: this is seamless-construction marketing language describing a smooth silhouette, not confirmed circular knitting like the yoga style below. Standard fabric is 85% polyamide/15% elastane, and it's one of the more flexible SKUs we offer for fabric customization — buyers can move to 100% cotton, GOTS-certified organic cotton, bamboo viscose, or GRS-certified recycled fabric depending on their positioning. goes deeper on those fabric trade-offs if you're deciding between them. Standard absorbency is 35ml, customizable from lightest to super heavy. Stock sizing runs S–XXL, with custom grading down to XS and up to 8XL. MOQ is 1,000 pieces for custom OEM/ODM, or 500 pieces if you just need custom woven labels on an existing build. Certifications listed on this product are OEKO-TEX Standard 100, BSCI, SMETA, GOTS, and GRS. This is the one I'd point a buyer toward if they want a broad, everyday high-rise style with real room to move on fabric sourcing. Product page

Seamless Yoga Period Panties (Model LJV-SY-YG)

This is the one true circular-knit style in our seamless range. It's produced on dedicated seamless knitting machines — no traditional stitching, fabric knitted as one continuous piece, edges finished with laser cutting instead of a sewn hem. If a buyer specifically needs to say "genuinely seamless" and have that claim hold up, this is the style. Main fabric is 75% nylon/25% spandex with a cotton-blend crotch lining, absorbency is 10-15ml (light-flow range), and sizing runs XS–XXL in Black, Nude, White, Gray, and Navy. MOQ is low for this category — 50 pieces at wholesale, 1,000 pieces if you want full customization with your own branding. Certifications listed are OEKO-TEX, BSCI, and FDA. I'd steer activewear and athleisure-positioned stores here first, and also any buyer who's specifically marketing under-legging, no-show wear where the construction claim needs to be literally true. Product page

AA095 Plus Size Seamless Period Panties

This one is described on its product page only as "seamless body fabric" and "seamless construction" — high-stretch, but without any bonding or knit-method detail specified, so I'm not going to invent one. What I can confirm: main fabric is 78% polyamide/22% elastane, with a two-layer gusset (92% polyester/8% elastane, then 88% polyester/12% elastane) and a leak-resistant layer of 100% polyester plus a TPU barrier. On absorbency, the page states 30-40ml, but flags this explicitly as a reference figure pending SKU-specific testing — I'd treat that as a starting point for your own lab verification, not a confirmed lab number you can print on packaging yet. Sizing runs XS–3XL in Black, Champagne, and Lavender. MOQ isn't a fixed number here — the page states it depends on stock status and project requirements, so budget for a quote conversation rather than a set figure. On certifications: OEKO-TEX and PFAS-free documentation is available on request, which is different from saying the product is certified outright — worth being precise about that difference if you're passing claims on to your own customers. This style makes sense for buyers building out plus-size or inclusive-sizing ranges who need the extended size run and multi-layer leak protection, even with fewer locked-down specs than our other styles. A1021 Seamless Period Thong

Same honesty approach applies here. The page describes "seamless construction" in a low-rise T-back fit, without naming a specific bonding or welding method, so again — I'm stating what's confirmed and nothing beyond it. Body fabric is 85% polyamide/15% elastane, with a 100% cotton skin-contact gusset, a 100% polyester absorbent layer, and a leak-resistant polyester-plus-TPU membrane. Absorbency is listed as 10-15ml, and like AA095, that figure is flagged as a reference number pending SKU-specific testing, not a confirmed lab result. Sizing runs S–XXL across Black, Dark Blue, Red, Coffee/Brown, and Skin. MOQ is not numerically stated — it depends on stock and project scope, same as AA095. Certifications follow the same pattern: OEKO-TEX and PFAS-free documentation available on request, not certified outright. This is a good fit for buyers who want a thong or T-back SKU positioned for light-flow or backup-day wear, or as a complementary style alongside a brief-based core line rather than a standalone heavy-flow product. How to choose

If I had to boil this down for someone picking one style today: go with the yoga style (LJV-SY-YG) if you're positioned in activewear and need to legitimately claim circular-knit, no-show construction; go with p0001 if you want a foundational everyday brief with the widest fabric customization range, including organic cotton and bamboo options; go with AA095 if your priority is plus-size or inclusive sizing and you're comfortable running your own absorbency verification before finalizing marketing claims; and go with A1021 if you need a thong-style SKU for light-flow or backup-day use, either on its own or alongside a brief-based core line.

If you already know which of those four positioning categories fits your store — foundational/everyday, activewear/athleisure, plus-size/inclusive, or thong/backup-day — reach out to us with the specific style number (p0001, LJV-SY-YG, AA095, or A1021) and we'll get you factory-direct pricing and a sample. Email me at info@ljvogues.com or message me on WhatsApp at +86-199-2880-2613. I'd rather quote you accurately on the style that actually fits your positioning than have you guess and re-order later.
