Sustainability isn't our marketing line.

It's our production line.

A time-stamped roadmap from a PFAS-free, BSCI Grade A period-care factory in Shantou, China — published with certificate numbers, audit dates, and third-party verification links.

We refuse to publish what we cannot verify.

We don't just weave fabrics; we weave safety, confidence, and dignity into every stitch.
Period-care intimates touch the most sensitive mucosal skin on the human body — eight hours a day, twelve days a month, four decades of a woman's life. The industry's long silence on PFAS, on dye-effluent management, on garment-worker wages — it was never ethically acceptable. As of 2026, under EU REACH Annex XVII restrictions and US state-level PFAS bans (New York, California, Maine, Washington, Vermont), it is no longer legally defensible.

This page does not contain a single unverifiable claim. Every percentage has a methodology note. Every certification has a third-party verification link. Every target has a deadline, a baseline, and a named accountable person.

If you spot anything on this page you can't verify, please email me directly. We maintain a public correction log.

Why PFAS-free is non-negotiable for period care.

PFAS — per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances, the "forever chemicals" — are used industry-wide to make underwear water-resistant. They do not biodegrade. A 2020 study by Mamavation and Environmental Health News detected organic fluorine (a PFAS indicator) in 65% of period underwear products tested in the US market.

PFAS are now restricted under EU REACH Annex XVII, banned for apparel in New York (2023) and California (2025), and on the active legislative agenda in Maine, Washington, Vermont, Minnesota, and Colorado through 2027. The FDA continues to expand its watchlist.

In Q2 2024, LJVOGUES replaced its entire C6/C8 fluorocarbon supply chain with a bio-based C0 hydrophobic finish, verified PFAS-free by SGS independent laboratory testing.

We map our supply chain to Tier 2 — and we'll show it to qualified buyers.

The fashion industry's "transparency gap" is widest at Tier 2 (fabric mills) and Tier 3 (yarn and raw fiber).
Most factories never publish past Tier 1. We publish to Tier 2 on the open web and disclose Tier 3 under MNDA.

Sustainability FAQ

  • Q What is LJVOGUES doing about carbon emissions?

    A
We have engaged an SBTi-aligned consultancy to establish our Scope 1 + Scope 2 carbon footprint baseline by Q3 2026, using GHG Protocol Corporate Standard methodology. A
Tier 1 (our facility) is audited annually under amfori BSCI 4-Pillar and SEDEX SMETA 4-Pillar. Tier 2 (fabric, membrane, trims) suppliers are required to hold OEKO-TEX ® STANDARD 100 and ZDHC MRSL compliance. Tier 3 (yarn and raw fiber) traceability is in progress, targeting GRS chain-of-custody by December 2026.

  • Q Does LJVOGUES offer GRS-certified recycled fabric options?

    A
Yes. We are GRS chain-of-custody certified for selected SKUs (Control Union Cert No. CU 12XXXXX) and have committed to 35% of total production volume on GRS-certified recycled fabric by December 2026. Current progress: 17% as of April 2026.

  • Q What sustainability certifications does LJVOGUES hold?

    A
OEKO-TEX ® STANDARD 100 Class I, amfori BSCI Grade A, SEDEX SMETA 4-Pillar, FDA Establishment Registration, EU REACH SVHC compliance, GRS (Global Recycled Standard) for selected SKUs, and CPSIA (US). All certificate numbers and verification links are published in the Certifications Library above.

  • Q Is LJVOGUES period underwear PFAS-free?

    A
Yes. Since Q2 2024, 100% of LJVOGUES SKUs are manufactured with a bio-based C0 hydrophobic finish, verified PFAS-free by SGS Independent Laboratory Report No. CTSAY24XXXXX. This applies to period underwear, period swimwear, and all related categories.
